One of the services Hamlin describes is Seppuko.com, where you, too, can commit virtual suicide on Facebook and the service will send out your notice to all of your friends and launch a memorial page for you. The site was created by Les Liens Invisibles, an Italian artists’ group.
Now stop me if you’ve heard this one already, but Facebook’s lawyers have sent the site a cease and desist letter that begins:
