Sports Authority has sent emails to its customers telling them that any personal information they provided to the company now belongs to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The customer’s private information will remain with Sports Authority until Sept. 15 and be protected under the chain’s privacy policy until then. After that, all of the personal information will belong to Dick’s.

But Sports Authority also advised its customers that they can opt out of the transfer of information to Dick’s. Customers would have to do so by Sept. 15, before the data is transferred.
