Following up on a privacy lawsuit filed several months ago, Phil Kabler reports:
Marshall University has reached a tentative settlement with a daughter of state Treasurer John Perdue, over a lawsuit contending that the school violated privacy laws by releasing confidential information regarding her coursework.
Attorneys for Emily Perdue have agreed to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit in exchange for an $81,250 monetary settlement, Chuck Jones, director of the state Board of Risk and Insurance Management, confirmed Wednesday.
