Even if You Host Your Own Email, Google Still Sees Half of It

If you’re interested in maintaining privacy and control over your email, then it’s likely that you’re not using Gmail – but it might be a futile step because just about everyone else is using Google’s email, and that means that the company has access to most of your email anyway.

An interesting post by author, activist, hacker and researcher Benjamin Mako Hill outlines this problem.
