ACLU launches Demand Your dotRights web site

Posted on November 19, 2009July 3, 2025 by Dissent

The ACLU of Northern California has launched a new web site, Demand Your DotRights. The site provides an overview video about online privacy, news, and some action alerts.

One of the action alerts involves sending a message to Google about reader privacy and Google Book Search. The template message asks for four protections:

1) Protection Against Disclosure
2) Limited Tracking
3) User Control of Purchases and Purchasing Data, and
4) Transparency

Another current action alert addresses Facebook‘s privacy controls and settings for applications and quizzes.

Thanks to Ryan Calo for letting me know about the site.
