BD: Uni student arrested for hacking women’s Facebook accounts and blackmail

Kamrul Hassan reports:

A university student was arrested yesterday by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for his alleged involvement in hacking Facebook accounts of women and blackmailing them.

The accused Mahmudul Hasan, fourth semester student of Computer Science and Engineering in East-West University, was arrested from Merul Badda area of the capital. Police also siezed his desktop computer and a mobile phone.

Police said he hacked some hundred Facebook accounts and victimised many women and girls. He generally hacked the accounts using online phishing, key-logger applications and social engineering.
