Ca: Privacy concerns at Lestock’s local SGI issuer

Posted on July 22, 2015June 26, 2025 by Dissent

D. C. Fraser reports:

Residents in Lestock are concerned their local SGI issuer* has repeatedly accessed personal information without a valid business reason.

Eighteen people in the town of about 100 had their private information, including driver’s license information and their SGI profile, accessed without apparent reason by Lestock Motors.

“You can’t just go popping into somebody else’s business,” said Rick Englung, one of the people who had information accessed.

His records were pulled eight times since 2013 by the local SGI issuer.
