Couple sues Georgia sperm bank, claims donor wasn’t as advertised

Posted on April 9, 2015June 30, 2025 by Dissent

Okay, this court case is going to be fascinating to a lot of people for different reasons, but I’m including mention of it on PogoWasRight.org because the sperm bank in question, Xytex Corp., allegedly accidentally disclosed the sperm donor’s name to the couple. Xytex’s current donor confidentiality policy says:

…. at the present time you must be willing to either participate in our Identity Disclosure program or submit an adult photo.

but I don’t know what it was at the time the donor first enrolled as a donor or at the time of representations to the couple.  Could the donor have a cause of action against Xytex for a privacy breach? I don’t know, but I’ll try to follow this case, and if you see more on it, do let me know.
