FL: Two teens arrested for aggravated stalking online

The kind of online impersonation a new California law is intended to address has occurred in Florida, where two teenagers have been arrested. Sarah Pusateri of WINK News reports:

Two teenage girls are facing serious charges after they created a fake Facebook page for another student. The page was created in April but deputies didn’t arrest the suspects until this week.

An Estero High School students tells us that word of the page has gotten around, “Kids were talking about naked photos, and this girl got naked pictures of her posted on Facebook.”

Deputies say two girls, ages 15, created a fake Facebook page posing as another 16 year old student.

Lt. Bell says, “I believe the girls thought it was a big joke, unfortunately it’s not. This is a crime.”
