Posted on August 24, 2009July 3, 2025 by Dissent

The family of Jade Goody is suing Mirror Group Newspapers for up to £100,000 over the publication of a picture of her burial in the People.

Seven people, including Goody’s mother and grandparents, claim the image, published on 5 April, was an invasion of privacy and a breach of confidence.

The group are also suing the picture agency NewsPics.

Trinity Mirror, owner of Mirror Group Newspapers, declined to comment. Goody died in March from cervical cancer.
