Google deletes last of UK wifi data

Tom Chivers reports:

Google has deleted all of the data collected from unsecured British wifi networks, six months after the problem was discovered.

The search engine giant admitted in May that it had been collecting data from unprotected networks, in breach of the Data Protection Act. Its Streetview cars had been collecting information transmitted over all networks not protected by a password. The data included passwords and emails and other potentially sensitive information.
