HoJo, Wyndham Settle Phone Privacy Class Action For $1.5M

While I’ve been busy watching the FTC’s enforcement action Wyndham over data security, Wyndham was apparently also dealing with a class-action lawsuit involving privacy.

Law360 reports:

 Howard Johnson International Inc. and Wyndham Hotel Group LLC have agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle a  class action accusing the hotel chains of surreptitiously recording customer phone calls in violation of California’s Privacy Act, according to a court filing Friday.

Attorneys for plaintiff Loren Stone asked U.S. District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez to preliminarily sign off on the $1.5 million settlement…
