The Federal Government has commenced the process of providing law governing the processing of personal information and data protection as part of efforts to curb the crime of identity theft in the country.
Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr Bello Adoke, who spoke in Abuja, on Thursday, said such a law was long overdue, “considering the fact that our policies more than often, have not kept pace with the advances in technology.”
