VA: State removes personal information from disabled parking permits for cars

To protect personal information, disabled parking placards issued after July 1 will no longer display the name, birthdate or gender of the placard holder since they are displayed on a vehicle’s rear view mirror in public view.

“The Commonwealth and DMV are committed to protecting Virginians’ privacy,” said DMV Commissioner Rick Holcomb. “Removing an individual’s identifying information from disabled placards will help safeguard our residents and protect their identities.”
