Microsoft Privacy Policy Questioned In India’s Supreme Court

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court questioning the privacy policy of Microsoft Corporation, alleging that it indulges it an unauthorized collection of data of users without their knowledge and permission, and its storage in foreign locations, leading to violation of right to privacy.

According to the petitioner Vinit Goenka, a businessman, he noticed that his sensitive business information was being accessed and shared by Microsoft with third parties. He noticed it when he started receiving unsolicited emails from other third parties, which made him suspect that his sensitive business information was being captured and leaked.
