[New Zealand] Privacy Commissioner Marie Shroff is going to be the next key player in the row over two beneficiaries whose welfare payment details were released by Social Development Minister Paula Bennett.
Labour yesterday laid a complaint with Ms Shroff, claiming Ms Bennett breached the principles of the Privacy Act.
She revealed that Natasha Fuller was receiving $715 a week and Jennifer Johnston $554 a week.
Both solo mothers had complained about the Government’s decision to scrap the training incentive allowance and said without it they would not be able to continue courses which would help them get jobs.
Labour MPs hammered Ms Bennett in media statements and grilled her at question time in Parliament yesterday, accusing her of intimidation.
